The tape worked. I took the backing and the flannel and sewed the X on them. Then I took the t-shirt block and on the wrong side, I squiggled Aleen's ok-to-wash-it, let it set up for 3 minutes, and pressed it on to the backing/flannel block. Since I put sashing around the t-shirts, I made sure I didn't get any glue on that. Now my t-shirts are sitting to dry and it worked like a charm!

I hadn't heard of the Aleen's product before. Please a post a pic when you finish. I'd like to make this project.

Try using a teflon foot, its made to go over things like leather, etc where it could hang up. Or you could use water soluable stabilizer on top of the decal. You may even want to just stitch around the outside of the decals and maybe a few decorative hand stitching inside if it needs extra stitching to keep it in place.

Aileen's is a great product! (For permanent gluing)

I never sewed thru the vinyl iron on design on t-shirt quilts. You can possible do damage to your machine. I use to outline the design with FMQ.
