Table Runner Batting

Connecting Threads is having a batting sale. Which batting is best for a table runner you'd want to lay flat? A total polyester?

I'd stick with a thin cotton. Poly tends to act like a brillo pad on the inside and can eventually wear through the fabric. Check Bonnie Hunter's site and others for that info.

Ouch. Just read the info on Bonnie's site. Had no idea about the poly "erosion". Guess I'll stick to cotton. Thanks!

Warm and Natural has some "stiffness" to it that works well. Don't recommend it for hand quilting, but nice if it will be done on the machine.

I'd use the thinist cotton batting available. JF has one that's 1/16" thick. So does Dream Batting.

Another option is to make it like a hot pad with insulbrite, not triffits needed.

I have made just a few table runners, centerpiece squares recently, only used W&N seemed totally fine to me.

That is not true. I mainly use poly batting and the above has never happened. Been making quilts for 52 or 53 years.
