Table runner is bowed
 

I did a hunter star table runner, six 12" blocks. After joining the blocks, I squared the runner. Then I quilted it using an edge-to-edge embroidery design on my machine. After washing, drying and pressing, when I laid it on the table, I notice it has a bow in it. Is there anything I can do to "straighten" it?

well, spritz it and press it. i think most of us just place something in the center to disguise things when necessary. Good luck.

Thank you, Tartan and nativetexan. I was wondering if dampening and blocking would help. I'm going to give it a go.

I think blocking it will work. Just make sure you use rust-proof pins. :thumbup:

I love your pretty runner! I really like your quilting by embroidery machine. Did you enjoy quilting with your embroidery machine? Your runner looks great to me! I have decided to accept that every project I make is perfectly imperfect.:)

Blocking works wonders. Perhaps just drying it flat would be sufficient to make it lay flat. I think the problem is with the batting shrinkage not being even due to the quilting process.

Doesn't look horrible in the picture. Call it a design element. :-)

Ditto on dampening and blocking. Love your quilt! Did you use the Deb Tucker ruler or what other method?
