I use Insulbrite if it will be for hot dishes, if not, then W & N. For placemats I like washed flannel, it is nice and flat.

I use a preshrunk Warm and Natural and for some I iron on and interfacing to the batting so it has a bit more rigid texture. The interfacing really helps to keep it laying smooth.
|
As all the others, I just left over batting...Warm and natural. I like more of a quilted look to mine.
|
I use either warm and natural or flannel

When I make the ten minute runner I don't use anything, it isn't quilted. If I want something with quilting I use flannel. I prefer my runners to be thin. I have made some with upholstery fabric as the backing. Mostly because I can get upholstery fabric samples free.

I agree, it would not be a "quilt" without batting. I use W&N also!!!

Not sure on the 10 minute one, but I just use Warm and Natural on the ones I have made.

I use Thermolam, and it lays really flat after washing. It makes the fabric look like it's never been washed.
|
I use thin batting...If I think it might be used also as a hot pad, I include a layer on Insul-Brite
|
I use Pellon fleece. It stays perfectly flat and firm. Warm and natural is nice and soft for quilts but IMHO is is a little wavy and soft for tablerunners and wallhangings.
