Table runners

I am looking for beginner Christmas or any kind of table runners.:)

marymm 09-25-2013 05:27 PM

Google table runner or free table runner and you'll get lots of great ideas. This is one of my favorites: http://quiltbug.com/free/table-topper.htm

And here's another super easy, very versatile one, that is quilt as you go. http://www.vanessachristenson.com/20...-diary-of.html

Just made the maple leaf runner from MSQC

I want to thank you so much for posting the table runners. I love them.:)

Tartan 09-25-2013 06:24 PM

I did the Missouri Star quilt co. Christmas tree runner last year. Jenny has several cute and easy table runners on Youtube.

Scuddles 09-25-2013 07:19 PM

Thank you, I love Jenny. I am working on the one that uses the large half hexi. Her tutorials are so fantastic. She makes every block look so easy and fun.

If you are doing the one with the green trees on 2 ends and the star in the middle, I am looking forward to seeing your rendition. There are several posted from last Christmas and every one turned out really well.

This was just posted on another thread. It could easily be adapted for any holiday:

There is always the "ten minute runner" that's super easy and fast. Just google it and there are youtube demos on it. Hope that helps!

My linking skills are lacking but if you have youtube, it is under Make Christmas table runner using the half-hex ruler. My version is under the post MSQC. Christmas table runner- quilted. I changed the appliqué star in the center to a pieced star and used my large triangle ruler instead of the half hex on about page 6 of the replies.

Thanks Tartan ... your runner is indeed lovely. Hope you kept it for yourself!

It just doesn't get any easier than this! It's my go-to quickie gift.

WMUTeach 09-27-2013 04:14 AM

Please consider the suggestion for the runner found on "Quilt Bug". I just used it a couple of weeks ago and it is Really, Really easy. It took longer to cut the pieces than to put it together and it is an easy one to cut! Enjoy it.

gramacheri 09-27-2013 05:15 AM

A VERY simple table runner is called the 10 Minute table runner. It literally takes 10 min. to put together! Do a search and you will find it. Have fun.

If you have a favorite quilt block, you can make a few of them for a table runner. Add sashing if you want, and a plain or fancy border. No pattern needed! :-)

QandE2010 09-27-2013 05:56 AM

I like this table runner pattern. You can make it for any season just with the fabric selection and any size by adding or subtracting rows. I also like to make it without the borders (for a smaller table). Enjoy!

As Tartan says below check out Missouri Star Quilt Co., as Jenny has some simple, yet beautiful projects. Also check Quilters Cache, for simple blocks, make 3 or 4, put narrow sashing in between, then a narrow border in the sashing fabric and another 2-3" border, makes a great table runner. I love churn dash and contrary wife, as they make great table runners.

Google "10 minute table runner." They are addictive! froggyintexas

I just made a quick one by making 3 D9P blocks and scrambling them back together. It came out really cute and was well received.

Today I made four 'TenMinute' table runners. One for each season of the year. They are going in a raffle basket for our church bazaar. Just type 'ten minute table runners' and you will be directed to the pattern. I do not know if there is a video. Happy sewing.
