I printed out the pattern where you take the cereal bag, wash it, cut it, add fabric "tails" but can't remember if there is batting or not...anyone help me?

Thanks for the link.....cute gift idea :)

I made these out of fleece so they had the added advantage of being a small "snuggly".
|
Well, according to the tutorial you linked to, there is no batting....

Thanks for this link!

Thanks for the link. I wondered what was used for the crinkly part - now I know.
|
I made a lot of them for baby gift. I tried many material (cotton, minky, flanel, satin...) and made some with batting, some without. Because you want it to be souple but still to have body, I had the best result when using flannel in the middle for batting.

I would love to make some of these types of things, but I haven't quite figured out the best way to collect an assortment of ribbon. I mean, there are tons of types of ribbon out there, but I'm thinking you want washable kinds, and I'd want to buy an assortment of patterns instead of lots of long rolls.
I saw a store once that sold odds and ends of ribbons. I should have nabbed them but wasn't in the market at the time... |
I wonder how this would work for a cat toy?

True, no batting but plastic pet food bags work also, they just make a different sound.
Thank you for the extra hint of what to use inside the toy. sewnbug and maviskw, I have not used the company in a long time but they sure do have neat things at good prices. Thank you for the reminder. |
very interesting. I have someone having a baby, and may do this instead of a quilt. great idea.
|
I have made many of these and used my left over of baby flannel (all washed). I had lots of trims from making many items that were not quilts. They all turned out nice and the babies love them. They are fun to make also.

Thanks for the idea ...
