Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to take a photo of a black quilt so that the black shows up as black and not a faded charcoal?
Ive tried with and without a flash and it still doesnt look right. Photoshop isnt helping me either......... |
Take it outdoors on a sunny day and park your quilt in the shade. It's a good trick for all dark colors.
But be aware that black is notoriously hard to photograph. You may need to try out lots of different locations and types of lighting. |
is that the quilt in your avatar? it's beautiful. i'm not the best photographer, so i'll let the others answer.

no its not the one in my avatar, its a wholecloth done in variegated thread. I will take it outside and try that. thanks for the advice!

In Photoshop, are you using the "remove color cast" option? You should be able to point it to the black and have it give you a true black.

~ Make sure it is late afternoon, almost evening, day time light is to harsh and draining of colors for any photos ~
