Start them young and hopefully it will be a lifelong hobby! There are so many fun things for them to sew.

Grandma's are the best to learn sewing from. Because they always have a stash of wild fabric to play with. Boy do I have the memories. Both of mine quilted.

Several of the women I work with (all older than I am) are amazed that I sew or quilt or cross-stitch! They are then equally amazed to find out that my DAD was the one that taught me how to make stitches and cross-stitch :) My mom also has taught me a lot but both parents were quilters :)
