Yes. My 12 year old dg is here and we are both teaching the 15 yr old to hand quilt with jelly roll trips. She lives further away so can't work with her as much but she is having fun. Will take pictures to remember when....Anyone else been teaching grandkids to sew this summer? I'd love to hear the stories.
I think the more the family teaches our children, the more will pass on the craft of quilting. Keeps them busy too. Happy quilting.

am teaching my 6 yr old grandson to quilt. Today he made a pillow with nickle squares - he is quite proud of it. had more fun stuffing it than sewing the squares together. LOL

My grands are still too little to learn to sew, but when they are old enough.......!However, I have taught all my girls to sew. My 15yo likes to quilt also.

I taught my 10 year old dgd to quilt. She went to my stash and chose the colors, sewed all the strips together and I quilted it and did the binding. She lives in TX so I don't get to be with her as often as I like. She made a doll quilt for her American Doll. We had a great time together, I just wish she lived closer so we could work together more. She really loved it,and so did I, I really loved spending the time with her. Here is the link if you would like to see it.

Hope you don't mind, I brought the pictures here. Wish I had Katharine's first but it's at her house. I have no idea where the pictures are stored. Thanks for posting. Great quilt.

what fond memories - mine are too little, too far and the GS close is into football. Wish I had someone to share my crafts with. Enjoy your precious moments and thanks for sharing.

Yay!!! How much fun is that!

I spent some enjoyable time with my daughters this week sewing as well. (pics on my blog: www.quiltingunderthemidnightsun.blogspot.com )

It would be most difficult to teach my 16 GD to quilt because one had is glued to a phone.......IF I mentioned to her that I wanted to teach her to quilt the eye rolls would be never ending I'm sure ! THAT branch of my family have no interest whatsoever in anything to do with a needle and thread; NOW, if I wanted to help her with her batting and pitching she would be all over me !

Good luck and I'm a bit jealous.
