I am so excited. I am mentoring a wonderful young lady (15 yrs. old) and she wants to learn to sew :) We found a nice beginner's pattern with an owl applique (she loves owls) and we shopped today for her fabric. Next weekend we cut and sew. So nice to pass on the tradition.

It's nice when young ones have the desire to sew.

Is it so great that she want to learn at a young age. I'm glad she came to you so you can share your knowledge in quilting.

It's so wonderful you are willing to take time to share your sewing knowledge.

I like the "Speedy Baby II" pattern. It is borders and rectangles or squares. If you use 5" charm squares it goes really fast! The center square could be her favorite sport/hobby or a special theme.

Enjoy your student!

Oh that would be so much fun! You are teaching her something that will give her a lifetime of pleasure. That's great! :c)

My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was a little girl. We spent hours together and I loved every minute of it. It is great that you are helping her and she will be able to do the same one day.

I am 52 years old and want to learn to make quilts. I wish I knew someone in my area that could teach me.

Good luck with your teaching and post a picture of the finished product. :-D
