Teen quilts

Want to make a charity quilt for teens, any suggestions for a fast easy quilt.

I think anything would go. choose some bright colorful fabrics and it will look great!

For fast and easy, Warm Wishes is my go to free pattern.

super heros, foods, sports, I spy, use them as your focal, and two blender prints. I do a 4 patch. quick and easy, and you can pick a cool print that they are bound to love. make a pillowcase too.

I like the skateboard quilt for teenage boys. An I Spy can work for boys or girls depending on the fabrics.

Checkerboard. It doesn't get too much easier than that. It also happens to be one of my favorite quilts.

Bright solid colours in combinations with grey, white or black. Simple geometric patterns. Probably giant block quilt. Modern/abstract quilts ;)

This is a quilt I did for Project Linus. it will work for a teenager also if you add another border to add too it's size.

That's a great quilt that lindaschipper suggested. I'd also stick with geometric patterns, maybe something like this, for a teenager. It's all HST's and easy to do as you can make the HST's any size you want and you just keep expanding the pattern to the size of quilt you want.

I agree with Nox.

I made 7 graduation quilts using the Villa Rosa pattern called Stars and Stripes this past year. It’s made with big blocks and HST’s. It goes together quickly and uses 8 fat quarters and 1 1/4 background, 1 yard border and extra for binding ( but I make my binding from leftovers). It looks great in any combination of colors....brights are great for teens as well as black and whites.

I'm making this one right now. In all assorted greens and I have 1.5 yards of black fabric with skulls all over it. I plan to somehow make into a backing size. Found a box of about a hundred+ 5 inch squares, so my triangles are only 4.5 inches. I'll need hundreds and I have maybe 4 greens in my stash. I started out using light, dark, light greens by the end it going to be all darks. Monday I'll be going to a destashing sale but I hear she mostly has florals.

The Take Five, Disappearing nine patch, and Warm wishes have enough interest and design that make a nice quilt. Fairly fast too, which to me is a bonus. I am thinking the fabrics that you have will determine the design you will make. Will it be twin sized?

Windham Fabrics has a freebie download on line by the name of Hugs and Kisses. It would work for a teen aged girl in the right colors.

Double Slice Layer Cake is a great pattern by Jenny Doan. Easy and quick, too.

Our teens really love French braid quilts

Fast and easy. Hmm. I like the Rail Fence. Warm Wishes goes pretty quickly. Chevron is all 1/2 square triangles and depends on the way they are turned so pretty quick, too. Be careful of fabrics/designs that are "too young" as these teens are not going to stay juveniles very long and hopefully will cherish the quilt in years to come.
