Template/ruler grippers
I had owner of a LQS tell me to put basting spray on the back of my templates to hold in place. What a miracle that is. I use a temporary spray, spray it real good, can still see all marks and let dry. really hold. Can easily be removed with rubbing alcohol and start over. I have sprayed all my rulers too. I am tired of all the little rubber grippers, sandpaper, velcro or whatever else I might have tried along the way. I hope this helps someone else as it did me.

I have been doing this ever since I started to quilt. I got tired of my rulers moving. Fingernail polish will also remove any excess dirt or lint that may get on your rulers.

I did that on an omnigrid ruler. Then used alcohol to remove it -- ALL my black grids came off!! SOOO be careful.

I'd also be concerned about the residue that sticks to the quilt ... and the dirt that would collect as a result. Of course, not an issue if you are making it up from start to finish to the washing machine in short order ... though for many, speed is not the normal process!! :) |
I will have to give it a try.

I use the Grip Strips from Guidelines4quilting.com They are life saver for me.
