Templates to Paper Pieceing

I'm making this BOM called 40th Anniversary. There are a lot of template blocks. I detest templates as much as Y seams. Is there anyway to turn these blocks into paper piece patterns?

Could you give us a link to the quilt or the name of the quilt shop offering it? It's hard to say anything without knowing what the quilt blocks look like.

Like BarbInLouisiana, I have no clue what the pattern is, so a link would be helpful.

Quite often you can convert but .................

More than likely it is. I did several Marti Michell (sp??) BOMs at my LQS, all of which were templates. I paper pieced them all. But, like BarbInLouisiana and QuiltE, it would great to be able to see what your are dealing with.

some you can, some are more work as you'd need several sections and then you'd be sewing them together. Personally, I'd much rather work with templates and sew regular than paper pieced. But I don't hate Y seams either :)

When I did Sylvia's Bridal Sampler, it had a lot of templates and also some paper pieced. I did almost all of it by measuring the templates and rotary cutting the pieces, sewing and trimming to size. A few of the other people got real good at converting them to PP. They were all 6" blocks and a lot of small pieces to work with. Anael is quite good at it.

Are you talking about this one? It's called The Anniversary Sampler Quilt and has 40 blocks.

Do you have EQ? You could draw the blocks in EQ and paper-piece them.

Just watched a video by Heather Thomas about making paper pieced blocks. It actually looked pretty doable . ITT would probably depend on pattern.
