You might check for the template from Eleanor Burns to make the 54/40 star blocks.....It truly does help get them accurate. I bought mine years ago, but have seen it lately at the LQS or Joann type stores.

It's a fun quilt to make. I just finished a king sized one......have fun!

The pattern is fairly simple - a snowball block alternating with a pieced block. The pieced block has four 4-patches, one plain square, and four Triangle-in-Square(TIS) units. The TIS is the only tricky unit; to make it easier you could use the Deb Tucker V-block trimmer (my first choice) or the Tri-Recs tool (second choice). Since this is not a 45* triangle the "legs" don't extend into the corners of the unit.

Eleanor Burns has a TW in a day booklet I believe. She also has a video on YouTube as others have mentioned.

I used Eleanor burns book and the rulers come with it. Made it in king size and really liked it. The rulers are also useful for other quilt blocks.

EB is the way to go. She wraps everything you need to know in her books.

I have the Eleanor Burns TW book and made my granddaughter a quilt from that pattern. I had to buy the templates extra but was so worth it. It is an easy and fun quilt to make. I bought the book at JoAnn's with a coupon so wasn't too pricey. Good luck and I know you will enjoy making this pattern when you get the items needed.
