If a person will go to "Terial magic.com", you can find lots of good information and even patterns to make things. They have a newsletter and video.

I did find this in amazon just now.

That's not the same stuff. It does not give a crisp, stiff finish and is not starch.

I'm sad. 😞

Me too - it was the ONLY spray "starch" available at Kroger when I went out the other night just to get spray starch - and it's terrible for adding body. I soaked the fabric three times and it was like nothing.

It may well "smooth" your fabric, but there's not enough oomph in it that I would even use it for starch-prepared appliqued.

Fortunately, I have Sta-Flo liquid so I can mix some of that in.

And I just ordered the stuff necessary to make the Terial Magic substitute and cotton quilt glue-basting spray from that link on The Feisty Quilter - we'll see how that works out.

Right below that recipe, there's another one for basting polyester batting and I might try that, too. :)

Terial magic is not a starch as such. It's more of a stiffener/stabilizer. It was designed for making fabric flowers and craft. I have used it on fabric flowers, then you spray them with a poly clear coat. I never thought about running it through my scan n cut machine for quilt fabric. Just did and it worked great, now to see if will wash out.

Terial is used for machine embroidery a lot. It prevents puckers and wrinkles from forming around the design. My friends that do machine embroidery use a lot of it.

I don't know if this will help anyone but here's the MSDs for Terial Magic

No fragrance spray like Terial magic

Have any of you tried Magic Quilting & Crafting Spray? I found it at Missouri Star Quilts. Zero fragrance. Seems to be like Terial magic but I’m still experimenting with it. No corn in it.

This post is 10 years old, with a few follow ups from 2020! So prices may be different now, and certainly shipping costs.
