I test drove a pffaf over 35 years ago. I have sewn on this machine for over 35 years. This year I loan the machine to a friend and the electronic board went out and I need to locate a repair man to fix my machine. It turns on, but will not sew. I have bought 2 other machines which I love as well, both pffafs. I like the fact I don't usually have to worry about tension, thickness of sewing project and it sews very smoothly and nicely. I have had no problems with any of my pffaf machines. I'm sold on this brand.

I bought a Pfaff QE 4.0 in Jan 2013 and had a problem with the lighting. The dealer replaced the machine with a new one from their stock because they know Pfaff takes a long time to replace parts/machines. So I think you need to talk to the dealer and see how they handle returns. If the dealer can't or won't replace it and must wait on Pfaff, that would be something to consider. BTW my new QE 4.0 is perfect and I am a happy camper (sewer)

Love my Pfaff 1471 bought in 1986 and still sew on it all the time. I would never trade it in.

I saw that several of the Pfaffs at the privately owned sewing machine shop inside Joanns were on sale and started talking to the sales lady about them a couple of days ago. I asked if I could try them out and was told no, if they did that for me they had to do it for everyone. I just smiled and said thanks...I was actually in shock! How can they expect to sell machines if they won't let you sit down and take them for a spin?! I'm a pretty normal looking and sounding 60 yo, lol, so I don't know what the deal was. I thought for the money the Pafffs had some nice features, but I sure won't waste my time at this shop.
