I really want to let you all know that tonight I learned a huge lesson from all of you. I took the time to go thru all 42 pages from your recent IRR. And have come to realize two things.
First, You are so kind here and to each other that it warms my heart to see how much work and effort you put into each round.
Second, that borders aren't just about plain pieces of fabric used to make the quilt the size you want it to be; but more of an "extention" of the design. I am truly amazed by what I saw here.

Round Robins are a lot of fun but also a lot of work. Some rounds are a hard act to follow:)

I agree ~ I read that today, too ~ skimmed for pics and couldn't believe the thought and care that went into each one. I may join in on one later this year or next year, have too much on my plate right now. They seem like a lot of fun! I assume that whomever coordinates the RR's matches people with skill levels ~ I am nowhere near a master quilter, but do love to design!

I'm not sure that skill levels are matched and I don't feel that they need to be. Each person can do what they feel that they can do, not what others do before or after you. You don't need to do complicated designs each row. In fact, sometimes the eye just needs to rest on the row and not have a lot going on. JMHO

This is my second IRR to participate in and completely recommend it. I am not a master quilter by a long shot and participating in a round robin has stretched me.
- I have worked with colours I wouldn't have otherwise chosen.
- I have tried blocks I wouldn't have even thought of.
- I have made and unmade things trying for a certain effect.
- I have coloured designs, used EQ6 to test and scribbled ideas on napkins in making plans for what to add.
Most of all.....
- I have been part of a group where everyone puts in their best effort and the result is amazing.
(there's also a bit of satisfaction in looking at a beautiful quilt and thinking "I did some of that")

I would be afraid my work is inferior to some of the masters on this board, that's all i meant... like I would feel like my work was a kindergartener's. Hope that clarifies?

I'm sure we are all insecure at times about things like that. All I am saying is don't let that stop you. You will learn and will have a good time.
