I've been working on this quilt top and there are alot of intersections to match up. I have been using Elmer's washable glue stick to hold them together and they come out perfect. I want to thank this board for talking about this. I have 5 more rows to sew on. It takes time but saves time cuz I don't have to rip and redo.

Isn't it wonderful when you try one of these simple solutions that work so nicely

Nice quilt top -- you are doing a great job!

Stitchnripper 01-23-2014 02:17 PM

I love all the Elmers glue uses and your quilt in progress looks wonderful.

MacThayer 01-23-2014 02:21 PM

I haven't tried the glue stick yet, just the washable glue. Thank you for the Heads up on this idea! I love using the glue to match seams, do borders, set hems, etc.

Very neat pattern! Is the next colour green?

Lori S 01-23-2014 02:40 PM

You are doing an awesome job of matching those seams! Congratulations on a job well done!

QuiltnNan 01-23-2014 03:15 PM

glad it works for you. in all my years of quilting, i've never learned so much as in my last few years on the quilting board.

It's looking great. Glad you found the glue tip and tried it. I haven't tried yet, but haven't been doing much either.

Good job. I learned about it on here as well and it sure does make life easier.

Your quilt is looking great!

Retired Fire Chief 01-25-2014 03:53 AM

It's going to be very pretty when you are done and it does look perfect. I've read the same hint, after seeing your seams match I now have to try it myself.

AnnT 01-25-2014 04:45 AM

Looks great!

twinkie 01-25-2014 04:48 AM

Looks like you have the process mastered.

callen 01-25-2014 05:14 AM

Yes, it's a great idea & so very helpful. Your top looks fantastic........make sure you show us the finished product.

MargeD 01-25-2014 08:35 AM

Very pretty quilt. Guess I'll have to go out and get a glue stick to try, as well as the Elmer's school glue - I only have the original Elmer's glue.

JanieH 01-25-2014 12:46 PM

Your piecing is awesome. Next time I am at the store I will have to get some. Like you said, I would rather spend time using the glue sticks than ripping and resewing!

charlottequilts 01-25-2014 04:04 PM

That's a very pretty pattern. Does it have a name?

Hugs,
Charlotte, who would undoubtedly glue things together crookedly

Divokittysmom 01-25-2014 08:29 PM

Isn't that just the slickest little trick?? I am always so pleased with each and every perfect seam!! Congrats on your wonderful quilt!!

Cybrarian 01-25-2014 08:44 PM

Wow you're doing great! Love your fabric choices, please show us when you get done, love it!

Wyldwytch 01-26-2014 01:43 AM

Where can I find the info on this? It would be a great help with the quilts I am working on right now.

Thanks
Rosie

JanineH 01-26-2014 12:05 PM

It is a kit I ordered from ConnectingThreads called Tangled Tracks. The colors were chosen as I am not very good at that yet.

ann31039 01-26-2014 05:27 PM

glue stick? i haven't heard of this one. I have used the white glue and iron for binding like sharon shomburgh. Love that. Guess I better do some searching on this one. I'm all about tricks that help.

JBeamer 01-27-2014 06:52 AM

WOW! Great job. Elmers glue or not it's great.

Painiacs 01-27-2014 11:10 PM

I dab the glue stick on the intersection and line up the seams then I pinch them together. I am a pinner so I put a pin there also but you wouldn't have to.
