With Presidents Day, Madi Gras, and Valentines Day this month and St. Patricks and Easter on the way, as a newbie, I would like to know how many of you do or have done themed projects to put up at these times?

I'm working on these this year. I am making Sunbonnet Sue themed small quilts to hang in my sewing room window.

For years I would decorate my classroom with all the quilts, wall hangings and crafts that I did for each holiday.(22 years worth) During the last year I worked before retirement when other teachers came in my classroom and commented on the decorations, I would take it down and hand it to them. I'm glad they went to good homes. There was no way I needed all of them. My own children had already told me what they wanted and I saved a lot of stuff for them.

I want to do theme quilts for sure. I do have a bunny one picked out for my gd now but have not even finished the valentine quilt I started last year for her when she was born....ugh. Little late this year too but who cares, will get it together before doing the bunny one for easter....that is more important I think....lol.

I've done wallhangings to switch out for Spring, Fall, Christmas, Fourth of July and one for everything in between.

The only "calendar" themed quilts I've done were to give away, mainly for Valentine's Day.

Come to think of it, I have done a bunch for birthdays as well.

I'm a teacher so I like to have something seasonal up in the classroom. So I make something. Maybe only in the colors of the season.

It's sooo much fun having a little one arounnd again,, Ibabysit him while my daughter teaches

I find I want to decorate the whole house again, like when my kids were small

My daughters want quilts for different holidays, so far I have only made them Christmas ones. I'm working on Easter ones now. I have made my mom seasonal quilts for her front door. She has a 100 year old house and the door has an oval window and is very drafty so the quilts cut down on the cold.
She has a big covered front porch so the door doesn't get much direct sunlight.
