Is there another name for this pattern?
Is there another, more common name for the this type of pattern, here called Dancing Ribbons:
http://www.quiltviews.com/free-danci...ounds-richards I would like to research other variations, but have no idea what to search for. |
Did you try a goole picture search for Dancing Ribbons? I got quite a few different coloured ones with that.

To me, it sort of has the bones from the Dahlia quilt pattern that were very popular two decades ago.

Do a image search on Bella Bella quilts. It's not the "name" of the pattern but that type of a motif is used in several of them.

google Bella quilts

Thank you, all. I see Bella Bella has several nice ones that use the same idea. I wasn't familiar with the Dahlia quilt, and many of those are same pattern.

The pattern is only 12"x12" It would make a nice pillow I suppose.

This is beautiful!! I've never seen this pattern before, although some things in the same idea. I downloaded the free pattern for my sometime list!
Thanks, Sandy in Mooresville, NC |
wow, thanks for bringing this topic up. what a beautiful quilt. I too, want to see more of them.
when you do one, be sure and show us what you've done. |
This is a great design. I was floored that it is a free down load, especially since many patterns that are far less complicated and/or simply do-overs of traditional quilts cost around $9.00. I think this would be a great wallhanging in a much larger size. Will need to check web to see if any one had tried a larger size.

It is a cool pattern. I agree with tinliz about it's being a free pattern.
|
Great site lots of free pattern there , love the pattern we went to see.
|
That is beautiful. Thank you for posting a link. Since it's paper pieced, you could enlarge it to any size you want.
