To enlarge everyone's profile picture. I see sooo many beautiful pictures of quilt that are used as your profile pictures, I'd like to see a bigger picture. I'm amazed at the designs, the color and craftmanship of the quilts I've seen here on the QB. I sure can't wait until I get my first quilt completed. Crappy or not, as the kids say, "I'ma gonna love it". LOL Just to know that I made it myself.

I like to learn that trick too. Or maybe everyone could just add their avatar pictures in response to this link so we could all see the photo up close. Thanks, gals and guys.

You can enlarge the whole screen (font and pictures) by holding down the Control and "+" keys at the same time. Likewise, you can shrink it all by pressing Control and "-" keys.

For example, here's where you can see mine ... http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-112573-1.htm Pg 2 has the picture of the quilt Pg 5 (or is it Pg 7) has the pattern details. |

Here's something you can try:
Put your cursor over the picture you'd like to see better, and right click. That will bring up a menu. Just Copy the pic, then open a clean doc in Word or a similar program, and past the pic in there. When you click on the pic in Word, you'll get marks around the sides and at the corners. Take one of the corner marks and drag it out to enlarge the pic. The quality will go down, but it will be bigger! |
Where is the 'control' button?

On your keyboard--bottom left.
|
You can "Right click" (or whatever the keyboard alternative is, select "save image as...". Note what folder the computer is saving it to! Open it with your photo program and enlarge to suit.

Was not familiar with this technique, thank you LeslieFrost

Heyyyy,, neat trick. Did not know that would work so I tried it and it works great, Huggies, Fay

And after you've enlarged it and reduced it but can't get it back to exactly whatever your "normal" setting was, press CNTL and 0.

Wow, that hold down the control thing nearly scared the pants off me. I did it and everything got so little I couldn't even see it with a magnifying glass. Then, I couldn't get it to go big again....I finally, after about 20 minutes, figured out that I have to hole down the shift key in order to be hitting the + key to get everything back in to the right size. Sheesh! I AM IN NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM a computer person. That scared me nearly to crying lolol...If my husband got up and saw what I did, well, he'd have a cow.....lol this is his computer. I only get on here to look at patterns or collect a recipe now and then...LOLOL...it's funny now but a few minutes ago...well, I can't say what almost happened, had something to do with having brown spots in unmentionable places, lolololol...I was afraid to try it again just to look at the profile pics but now...I'm feeling brave and adventurous, lol, and I'm going to try it again so I can look at some of these lovely quilts.. Wish me luck! ! ! ! ! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL If you never hear from me again it means I really screwed up the computer and I've ran away from home, lolololol..........

Simpliest solution--------hit the "control" and "+" keys at the same time to increase the size of the board to huge-----------if you hit it often enough

PattiMahoney ... yeaaaaaa for you! You did it!!!! :) Actually you don't have to press the caps key with the Ctrl+. The computer figures it all out for you. And remember MTS' suggestion Ctrl0 (zero, not the letter) will always take you back to the original screen size. I know what it's like to not be comfy with the 'puter and be scared to try anything away from the norm, so pat yourself on the back, as you got thru it! :) |
