? For Those With Horizon 7700 or 8900

What thread do you use for quilting, both on top and in the bobbin? I am going to start FMQ with my 8900 and I am not sure of what thread to use. Thanks for your help.

I use Aurifil 50# in both top and bottom most of the time, but sometimes I use Isocord. I always use the same thread top & bottom regardless of the brand.

I use mainly Isacord, but my 8900 quilts beautifully with all threads I have used on it - Aurifil, Masterpiece, YLI Soft Touch, Mettler Silk Finish, King Tut, Bottom Line - and fantastic results with Superior Metallics.
I always use same top & bottom, except K.Tut and Metallics I have Bottom Line in bobbin.

My reply would be much like jul12, and I would add to the list So Fine and Aurifil nylon monofilament. I have an 8900 and it just isn't fussy. I don't always use the same thread in the top & bottom, but you might have to play with the tension. I use the blue dot bobbin case for FMQ, but not SID. Good Luck. You are going to have so much fun.

I use Auriful 50/3; haven't had any problem with it.
