I'm cutting out my fabric this weekend but I started thinking about something. Have any of you given any thought about the bottom of the bag and it wearing fast/getting dirty with use? I was wondering if anyone has used Nancy's Notions feet for bags on theirs or other projects or putting some plastic on the lower part of the bag. I have a piece of plastic from another project and might try to cover the bottom part with that. Don't know how I'll incorporate it yet, but will see what I can do with it.

I try to use a darker color on the bottom.

I also use a dark fabric on the bottom section and since it's all made of cotton (which I pre-wash before sewing) and poly batting/fleece, it should be washable.

No, for these bags I don't think I would worry too much about that. I try really hard not to sit my bag on the floor. And, as long as I pull out my bottom base, it is washable. However, I think you could use those little feet, if you are concerned.

After making about a dozen of the purses,I have started using the little metal feet and they work great. I do try to use dark colors on the bottom also. I ordered the feet online. Just google "purse feet". There are lots of choices out there.
