There is a shop in East Lansing Michigan a bit south of the the intersection of US 127 and I 69 called Country Stitches. It is a large shop and has one of the largest sale fabric areas that I've seen in a quilt shop. They also have lots of samples of neat things to make and a huge selection of batiks. If you are taking I75 north to go to Mackinaw then this would not be on your way but you could easily take US 127 North up through the center of Michigan and it is right off the expressway (127) on Lake Lansing Road. Just pick up I96 coming out of Detroit toward Lansing then I496/US127 North and US127 to the Country Stitches.
If you go this way and stay on 127 through Clare, MI, there is a little Amish quilting store on Surrey Rd just past Jay's. They have very good prices and new printed fabric as well as solids. The website of Row by Row Experience has a good list of Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania quilt shops but the list is not all inclusive as not all shops participated. |

Quilters Garden in Fenton Mi a bit from I 75 West of Holly however well worth the drive for batiks. Bay City has Fabric Fair lots of bolts too.....I agree with what has been mentioned. Also shops are out of your way as Linda's in Davison also Elaine's in Hadley.........Frankenmuth has one too, I think it's called Front Porch quilts.......calla

There is also the village quilt shop by Great Lakes crossing. The owner is also the editor for quilters world. Awesome store and fantastic people. She & her husband are very helpful

Oh, if you are on RT #23 in Ohio - stop at Waldo Delaware Rd for Serendipitee Quilt Shop. It is a great place with wonderful projects and quilting material.
