thread color

Hi, I am working on a child's quilt for a fundraiser/auction. The front is a panel with background in yellow, but busy with other colors of trucks, machinery, etc. The back will be either, first choice color turquoise, or second color choice rust. I plan to just meander machine quilt it, what color thread do I use if I use the turquoise backing? If I use rust backing I have some variegated yellows/oranges thread I think would be ok, not sure how that would be but I rather the turquoise backing, so....what are your thread choices for each?

I would use a light/ mudium Gray . It will blend in with the colors of the quilt and backing

I'm with ckcowl, I would do a light grey or white.

If the backing is busy, I would probably use white, since it wouldn't show that plainly on a busy backing. If solid backing, would probably use the light to med. gray to be less obvious on the solid back.

I think yellow would look great on the turquiose, same as the top.

Thanks I just got 2 backs, batting and tops pinned together and ran out of pins for the third. I'll have to get these two quilted before I can make the third. Hope to get these done and 2 runners before time...I am thinking I'll use gray with the trucks. The other is pink with white polka dots so I'll use white. Thanks so much!

I'd probably use light gray or a cream color

I like the idea of yellow. I find that I look for reasons to use yellow in my quilts. It just seems to give a nice warmth to a quilt.
