Concerning the C&C. Sometime while I wasn't doing much sewing, C&C changed from a poly covered cotton to a poly covered poly. I don't like the feel of the one spool I have purchased, but my 301 doesn't care. I haven't had an occasion to try it with the Elna. I have lots of old C&C, but mostly dark colors and I don't use much in those colors.
