Thread start time-a viewing choice, and a new quilt

I have found this a great way to view the board. Just go to the bottom of the page and click on "thread start time" and then "show threads". More clicking to do but it works for me. Just wish it was an option that was remembered.

I have started my next quilt. It will be for my mother's 85th birthday. I chose a print with with birds and trees mostly in reds, greens and purples. I fussy cut the bird print in circles and used a freezer paper technique to sew it as an inset into purple squares. Now I will use red in the corners to make a snowball block. One of her favorite things is sitting in her garden having tea and watching her birds eat their treats.

There is no 'thread start time' or 'show threads' on the bottom of my page? Why is everything so confusing to me????

I don't know of a thread start time. Is it possible that you are in mobile mode?

If you scroll down to the bottom of the screen, there is a section called "Thread Display Option". In this section change "Sort Threads By" option to "Thread Start Time". Then click on the "Show Threads" button to the right.

Here is a snap shot of the section I am talking about.

You will have to do this to every section that you go into and every time you open up the section. I have been doing this for a long time and find it useful. Others go to the Archive section, which I have not tried out so I can not compare the two options.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks for the explanation, Julie. Glad it works well for you. Now that you pointed it out, I do recall seeing that when I was doing the Beta for PatriceJ. Apparently, not many have had questions about it :) I use the Archives and just love that method... different strokes for different folks :)

I always use the thread start time. I got tired of the extra key strokes, so I went to main, selected thread start time, and then saved that link in favorites. I did the same for pictures (those are the two areas I visit most often). Now I just select the right link from favorites and I'm there!

I use this too. It would be nice to be able to save the setting.

Thanks for the tip, just finished entering the sections I go to. So easy!

I have used this since the beginning! I don't understand why it can't be a saved setting as the number of days is. It is a few extra steps to change it to "thread start time" each time I get on the board but it is worth not having to read all the posts to find the new ones (like before I found the "Thread Start" button!!)
