Can I use embroidery thread machine quilting on regular sewing machine? I live in a small town, walmart only carries real basic colors, we do have a shop that sells thread, but the all purpose will not work well, keeps breaking, but since she embroderies, she does carry 100% cotton embrodery thread in all colors.

I see no reason why not. I use it all the time in my LA and I think I used a varigated once in my Bernina. Just make sure you have the right size needle for it and give it a shot.

Depends on weight of thread. Superior thread has a guide for their threads here http://www.superiorthreads.com/educa...by-thread-type

You can probably make an educated guess by what they recommend for a similar weight of their thread to the embroidery thread you want to use. For example their 40 wt poly Rainbow, calls for a topstitch needle size 14. So if you are looking at a 40 wt embroidery thread that would probably work. If the thread is heavier you need a needle that is larger.
