Threaded bobbin?

I'm just about out of thread on a spool. Can I put a bobbin on the thread holder and continue to work?

TIA
Ginger

depends on what you're doing. I would've tried it on a sample before waiting until now. I just tried to see if the hole in one of my bobbins fit the spool holder and it does. So you can try. Anything is worth a shot.

I do that all the time. It will work as long as the bobbin fits on the spool holder, and I think they all do. Good luck.

I've done it, and it works fine. Give it a whirl!

I do in a pinch on a good project and when piecing to use up all those bobbins. Works fine. Just make sure you put a thread disk at the end (like with a spool) to it doesn't fly off!

THANK YOU!! I was so hoping it would work. The bobbin does fit on the spool holder. I did try that already.

I'm quilting a tote. I have enough thread, but most of it's on the bobbins!

So, after work I can continue with the tote.

I do that especially when I used Sulky metallic thread.

I don't like changing the bobbin in the middle of a quilting row so I always have a bunch of bobbins with just a few yards of thread left. Great idea to use it up for piecing. Thanks.

I do it all of the time. I like to empty my bobbins and use the small amounts of thread left on them after a project to piece things. And, because I am using it on the top I can easily see when it is empty. I hate it when the bobbin runs out and I don't notice until after I have moved on six more patches! I am not one to store a bobbin with every spool of thread.
