There are definitely a lot of patterns that use only 3 colors. I love the rail fence, turning twenty and warm wishes. Good Luck

I just ordered the book "More Simple Quilts with Splash Dash and Panache." There is a GREAT 2 fabric quilt and a GORGEOUS 3 fabric quilt in it. I bought it through Amazon (haven't received it yet) but if you just google it, I was able to find the book and able to flip the pages in the online book to see the patterns before I purchased.
The 3 fabric quilt that I am thinking of (and going to make someday) is a blue, yellow, and white one. Check it out!

Thanks Barb for reminding me of the Maple Island BQ pattern. I was ready to cut out my fabric and I think I donated the pattern to the guild! Your quilt is stunning I wish I could see the focus block! I like the border too. :0)

Oh sigh...isn't that the way it goes, you donate, give, sell something and THEN you need or want it! I have the hardest time downsizing because of this Murphy's Law! Aargg! Guess I'll check eBay and see if someone is selling theirs.

There is a book "3-fabric quilts by Leni Levenson .Wiener. It has some neat ones. I bought to use for charity quilts. Made a black, yellow & white one. Was hard to give away (lol)

Well, now there is 3 of us wanting to know what BQ means. Unless I missed it or it is being answered while I ask,
Please...what does BQ mean? I bet I know it-but right now--I don't! :(

I thought BQ meant big quilt but not sure why I'm thinking that- seems like another quilter said that when she was making the quilt..now I"m curious!

It means Big Quilt as in The Big Quilt by Maple Island http://www.mapleislandquilts.com/quiltpatterns.asp

There is a wonderful video via Nancy Nieman http://video.wpt.org/video/2365057122/

The video will give you a GREAT overview of the versatility of this wonderful, quick and indeed easy pattern.
