This morning I washed all the material I purchased last night at JoAnn's. Back material for 5 quilts, including a 120" wide muslin for a 120x105" quilt. As I'm ironing the muslin I found 3 good size holes in the fabric. I laid out my quilt top, put the muslin on top to see where the holes would land. I was hoping they would be close enough to the top's edge that I could eliminate that side of the fabric. No chance for that.:-(

Geez, JoAnns is a good 20 miles from my home so I need to make a trip over there. Might they exchange the piece? DH says I could save it for a smaller quilt, which is true. Take it back or keep it?

I would probably take it back...let them know how inconvenient it was to have to do this...they might give you a discount, never can tell.

At the price of gas that piece of fabric becomes much more expensive. Just a thought. I would live with it but that's just me.:)

I would call them and see what they are willing to do for you. If you use it for a smaller quilt, you will still have to buy a new piece for the original quilt so you might aw well go back to Joanns. Unless they will let you wait until you need something else to make the trip more worthwhile.

I would call there customer service, they should be able to send you a new cut of fabric, if the store manager is unable to assist you then email the company explaining what happened ask them if they would be able to ship you the fabric. Good luck.

I'd call, speak with the store manager , explain the issue, distance from store, etc. They should make good on it. I'd keep the other piece for a smaller project IF that is truely viable and purchase more for this project ( I would HOPE , and if not I'd ASK for a DISCOUNT on the new piece for ur inconvenience.... whether u have it shipped or u make the trip...

Do any stores do that? I've tried to get them to do that - and had to settle for just the item at hand.
