I am curious to know if others have had a quilt top they were piecing that they put aside. I just went back and found squares to complete a quilt top. I used black as a alternate color. I had put aside that top five years ago. I waited until I could find the right squares to complete it. I have done tops in a day but this one was the longest amount of time I spent on just doing the top. The batting and the back will resolve themselves.

I've never had to but that's not to say it will never happen to me. I'm a good one for getting close to the end of a project and then deciding it needs something more. Then I start digging in my stash to see if I have something else I can add to give it that final zing. Some times I have what I need and sometimes I don't but if I don't, it doesn't take me long to go get something so I can get it finished and off my ever growing list. I'm so happy you can now put the finishing touches on your quilt. Be sure to post a picture of it when you get it done.

Nope, you're not alone. I started a quilt for my sister after Christmas last year, planned to give it to her for her b-day is Sept - didn't happen. So, I'm on a mad dash to finish it for her THIS Christmas.

I've got several right now that I've put aside. My list of UFOs is extensive. :)

i started working on one last weekend that is 10 years old----i now have the blocks together(finally) and am working on the borders- will be happy to have this ufo finally finished! i almost sent it away a couple times- but then would look at the blocks and just couldn't quite let it go---i would put it back in it's box and stick it back on a shelf---finally really looked- and decided it was time--
i have one more 10 year old - 5 blocks done- 4 to go---
i have one that is 8 years old living in a file box...then i have 2 or 3 that are only 3-5 years old---oh so patiently waiting for their time to be right...some day...

I bought fabric for a quilt for my older stepson in about 1994 and finished it in 2004. At least it got finished. That's what counts!

I just completed 2 large quilts. One was from 2001 and the other 2003. Sometimes you just need to wait.
