Okay, I thought it would be cute to do a tiny twister tree but it is difficult. Cutting around a small 2 in. square is not fun. Before I cut off a finger, I decided to rotary cut one side only and do the other 3 sides with the scissors. I do intend to finish it but I have 2 rows together and about 12 more to cut and sew. I am cutting 1 row at a time and sewing it together for a rest and so I don't mix up the squares. I decided I needed a computer break between rows. :|

I have no idea how you cut around the twister template without one of those cutting surfaces on a turn table, otherwise, you have to be ambidexterous and double jointed!

I used a rotating cutting mat and it was a snap to cut. I got my mat about 20 years ago at Lee Wards :-). I went to the sewing expo yesterday and got a small one to keep by my machine.

Okay, I now have 4 rows together and it's not looking too bad. I will try and post a picture next week if all goes well. I have to borrow a camera. The design is not as good as the big ones because I didn't want the angled lines on my square too steep due to the seam allowances. The finished size of my 2 inch squares are about 1 1/2.

Anxiously awaiting.

FYI, I believe this is the type of pattern being referenced, yes?
