I think having my blocks touching is hurting my my brain, I think adding triangles might be better... opinions???

Before deciding I would finish all of the blocks and try both ways, though I do like it with the spaces,

krazy4quilts 02-09-2010 02:19 PM

I also like it with the spaces.

yes... thats what I was thinking. if thats the way I decide to go then I can sew my halves into wholes and cut some triangles in order to be ready for next monday.

I would still leave them in half. Otherwise you will still end up with y seams. At least you will if you put them together like that

I am also still cutting. I have the first set of six repeats cut but I still have to cut the repeats and line them up. I may not be able to stay caught up but am still learning a lot.

You are doing great! He blocks don't take long to sew there is 2 seams per side. So 4 in total until the next step.

If she adds triangles to just one side of one hexagon, then the complimentary triangle on the opposite side of the next hexagon, I think she might not have to do y-seams ... (oh, please tell me that I don't have to cut and sew to prove it, eh? ) LOL <wave>

No Omak. You are right. I wasn't looking at it that way.

I think it actually would look really pretty if you bunched the yellow together as a stripe in the middle and the greener ones on the outside, I think they would look great grouped that way without the triangle spacers ....
