I would like to see you cut the fabric lengthwise, if you don't it leaves an awful long cut to keep accurate, I didn't draw it in but I think I did comment on it,

OK heres what I think back away from as far as you can from the design and start squinting your eyes or look at the picture and squint your eyes....this will give you a different loo.... then you can start to imagine a disign using the light colored hexagons to give you a swrilling motion of differetn designs and use the darks to lead into another swriling design of the light color,,,,that way you quilt will have movement with some kind of direction....does any of this make any sense???

me,too, bow to you! AND your doing it without waiting for next set of instructions! I'm having a non-accomplishment day. I DID finish one more row of triangles for one of my borders but just can't seem to settle. I cleaned the kitchen yesterday so I can get Neil to clean the floor and get the leaf in the table so I can begin laying mine out on the fabric board I have for it. Can't do all that pinning to the wall.

Thank you Amma and Mimisharon, I did Y seams becuase I goofed up and jumped the gun and sewed my hexagons together too soon.

Cutebuns has done a great job teaching and guiding, I just got too impatient.

I am glad you like my quilt.

Thanks

Cutebuns, Okay DH, the engineer, is home from his golf game and we are both at a loss. We see 3 repeats across this piece of fabric, tho the 3rd repeat is not a complete repeat. I cut it in half, as you said, and can line up 3 pieces of fabric from the first half but for the life of us, we can't see how we can get 3 pieces of the second half to line up with the 3 pieces of the first half without losing a lot of fabric and getting very few hexes. Please tell me what we are doing wrong!

When you said that you had 16 repeats I thought that there was maybe more on the floor

if you have 12 or more repeats I recommend cutting them in groups of 2 or 3 if you can, you will get blocks you wouldn't otherwise get.

No, there were only 2 yards, guess I should have mentioned that again. We don't see of any way to salvage this, do you?

DeniseB your quilt is beautiful! It looks so calm and cool. Great job.

My blocks are taking a rest for a few days and then I will try a different arrangement. Can't wait to see more quilts showing up..
