I haven't been on this site for that long but one thing I noticed is that tlrnhi is always saying she has bought fabric or is buying fabric. I want to see this glorious sewing room, with piles and piles of fabric. (insert a drooling smilie here) I imagine it is a lot like heaven. Maybe if we ask nicely, we can even go shopping in her sewing room also. What do you think?

Izy 06-06-2008 12:48 PM

Kyssyfur - Terri's stash has shrunk alot in recent weeks......shes been giving all her stash away to her quilting buddies over in Spain - yippee!!!!!!!!!!! :D

zyxquilts 06-06-2008 01:01 PM

I have noticed that too Izy - almost every day there's a new post showing pics of fabric that she has shared with someone! Terri is an awesome, sharing, caring Quilter!!!!

tlrnhi 06-06-2008 04:11 PM

OMG LMAO!
Somewhere on one of these threads is a picture of my room.
Izy had commented on a quilt I had on top of a box that she saw in the picture. Couldn't believe she had seen it.
Now, you are going to make me look for the pic, right? lol
I don't have time right now to get pics, but once I get back, I PROMISE, I'll take pictures.
And yes...I just placed 2 orders for fabric. lol

I still have some stash left, it's not like I gave it all asway, I just shared! :)

jbsstrawberry 06-06-2008 04:29 PM

She sure did share!! She's a fabric Angel!!!!

OK, ya'll asked for it!
The room is a mess right now, but it's always a mess! lol

Someone wanna help me straighten this?

My table (messy) and machine. The fat quarters on the table are for zysquilts. :)

My scrap bin got torn apart, Courtney was looking for something. Envelope on dresser is for DonnaRae's "dots" and the rest just needs to be neatened up.

Now, you have to remember, my room is only 10x10.

It'll get cleaned up before Lauren and Donny get her tomorrow. They'll need a place to put their suitcases

The totes have some fabric in it, but not alot. Those have mostly some crafty things. See that box of batting? There's another under the table with sewing machine.

Yes, there is fabric in the drawers too!
The bottom drawer has curtains

Izy 06-07-2008 12:50 AM

Terri - It must be a magic sewing room.....it keeps filling itself up when you share with all your quilting buddies....it certainly doesn't look any emptier than when you last took pictures tee hee!!!!!!!! I would LOVE to come over and have a nosey around in all your drawers....so to speak!!

Butterflyspain 06-07-2008 03:30 AM

You canīt be a quilter and be tidy.....no way....thats my excuse and Iīm sticking to it.

Seriously I am surprised you still have a stash left after sharing with us here in Spain... you certainly made my day when I opened up my package.

Bevanger 06-07-2008 04:48 AM

thank goodness my sewing room is upstairs where no one can see it lol. i honestly don't think there is such a thing as a neat sewing room. Last night I was up there and for the heck of it I thru a scrap over my shoulder like I've seen Eleanor do. LOL ok I consider myself a quilter now LOL

tlrnhi 06-07-2008 04:48 AM

Oh yes, I have some left. lol
Like I said....most of the stuff I sent I had laying around and didn't really want anymore.
Elle...the stuff I sent you, was some of that PLUS some fats I had cut for other patterns.

And yes....I have 2 orders of fabric coming! lol

Chele 06-07-2008 07:37 AM

Ooohh, I want to come play in the fabric!

Cathy M 06-07-2008 08:45 AM

Terri- this looks like home to me :):) What a happy place to work and play. Of course, hanging out with you would be the most fun of all :):)

Pam Pollock 06-07-2008 10:44 AM

I am excited because I will soon be gaining a sewing room as my Daughter & Grandaughter are looking for an apartment & will be moving out this summer. That is not to say that I won't miss them...I WILL...however I see it as my consulation prize that I will be gaining a sewing room. :D :D Currently Tlrnhi's sewing room looks a little like my dining room/sewing room. LOL!!

k9colliedog 06-07-2008 12:45 PM

What wonderful organised chaos. I bet you can find anything you want in a blink of the eye.

tlrnhi 06-07-2008 04:17 PM

If you look in my pictures, you'll see a white/cream color hamper. That's where all my scraps go. Ok, some might make it there. While cutting, I usually have it close enough to me so I can just cut and toss. Most of the time it reaches, but sometime, well........I could have shown you the floor 2 days ago. It was a pretty color, not just green but ALL sorts of colors. I kept missing the bin. lol
I figure...it's MY room, don't like it? Shut the door! lol

tlrnhi 06-07-2008 04:20 PM

Come on over!
The view is gorgeous!
I don't open the window in front of the table because the wind would blow everything away. I can open the other and it's fine. Plus, I have my own a/c, ceiling fan, tv, stereo AND just a few steps OUTSIDE the room is a little refridgerator with cold drinks. I have a Thermos that holds a full pot of coffee that I sometimes make up and bring with me. So I am good.
Oh, and the bathroom is 2 steps outside the door to the right. So, everything I need, right? :)

I sure can! But I do need to straighten it up. Lauren will be here in about 7 hours and if I don't do it, she will. NOT A GOOD THING.
Her cleaning is sort of like when you were little and your Mom went in and cleaned your room........you found NOTHING when she was done? lol

jbsstrawberry 06-07-2008 04:29 PM

Ohhh I'd love to come help you play, I mean straighten up your fabric!!! What an awesome room Terri!!! I'll bring a couple more thermoses of coffee though, one won't be near enough LOL.

tlrnhi 06-07-2008 04:32 PM

I'm waiting!!

jbsstrawberry 06-07-2008 04:50 PM

Is the chunnel open on Sundays??

tlrnhi 06-07-2008 05:48 PM

I dunno.......lol
Maybe I should call them and make special arrangements for everyone ;)

ania755 08-07-2008 05:27 AM

:D :D :D This what I call "heaven"....full of treasures....Don't worry about the mess....Think only about the great things that comes out of it...

reneebobby 08-07-2008 06:03 AM

tlrnhi 08-07-2008 06:27 AM

That's what I say....my room, if you don't like it, shut the door! lol

retrogirl02 08-07-2008 07:32 AM

Love the view from your window!! I have an organized space in the basement laundry room....so you've got it made as far as I can see!!

tlrnhi 08-07-2008 07:34 AM

Yes, the view is pretty good, but I don't always see it when I'm sewing. I take lots of breaks out on the balcony, so it's nice.
You can come visit and see the view too! :)

retrogirl02 08-07-2008 07:39 AM

Someday.
I'd absolutely love it, I'm sure. Dad went to the base there every once in a while and remebers it as being one of his favorite places. Most of his duties after Vietnam were out of San Diego, although he did get to spend some time in Japan and New Zealand. I have never been outside the continental US

tlrnhi 08-07-2008 07:47 AM

Well? Here's your chance!
I'll even spring for a couple nights down at the hotel in Tumon where the water park is. We can have fru-fru drinks by the pool!

purplemem 08-07-2008 09:59 AM

Terri,
I just found out my Dad was in port in Guam a few times in WWII.
He said all he did was unload munitions, but he thought it was more beautiful than Hawaii.

I think that is really cool.

I wish you could have seen the reaction when I gave Deb your last kitty tote. She was so thrilled she SCREAMED! She jumped up and down and just was amazed! You do good work!.

quilting gal 08-07-2008 01:16 PM

I love it, I could spend dayssssss in there!!

sandpat 08-07-2008 01:45 PM

I'll come straighten your room for you Teri  I got to move into the "guestroom" with my new machine. DH said since no one likes us and no one ever visits...why not?? In just a few days...I can give your mess a run for its money :D

LOL
It's great having my own room. With no one wanting to come to visit here, I don't have to worry about it being a guest room. Actually, it can't because there is no way the sleeper sofa will fit in there.
Now that Courtney will be gona, her room will be the guest room. :)
