I haven't been in our local Walmart in a couple of months due to my knee replacement and PT but today I managed to get one of their motorized carts and off I went. First stop was to Fabric Dept. It had a good supply and the lady working said that word was they were going to be keeping fabrics in our store. Said people come from all over to buy fabric and related items. Good news for our little Madisonville, TN town. :-D

That is great for you!! Ours has really downsized but they still have some.

Hopefully that is true.... you never know with Wally World! :D
|
This is GREAT news :D:D:D

I have two Walmarts and both closed out the fabric dept. One did for a very short while brought back a small table with fabric however it did not last long. :-(

I hope that they do. Some of them have a fabric department {mine still does in Connecticut} and some of them don't. I never understood why they ever decided to get rid of them in the first place.

Great news! Glad you're doing better with the knee replacement!

All but 2 of our wm closed their fabric dept. The two with fabric never have stuff as nice as the old stores.

I had heard that the towns with a good supply of quilt stores or JoAnn's or Hancock's, etc. were the ones where they took the fabric out of the Wal Mart. Seems to hold true around this area.

However, I just learned that the Walmart in Porter TX will be keeping their fabric dept, which was great news! This store has not yet been remodeled, and I was dreading that day as their fabric is so much cheaper sometimes for the same fabric as in Joann's. Not as convenient, but not too far really. |
