I want to find a pattern for a quilted toe warmer. It is a small quilt 30" wide and the length of the width of the bed. I live in the S and don't need a quilt all summer-even with air. This just goes at the foot of the bed to add a decorative touch and keep your toes warm! I know I can adapt a quilt, but would like a pattern for one. I googled it and didn't find any. Can anyone help me?

I will see if I can find you some free patterns
1. bed runners 2. bed boots free pattern http://www.sewersforum.com/photogal/sherbedboots.pdf 3. picture of a bed runner http://hangingonbyaneedleandthread.b...explained.html 4. How to make a Bed runner http://www.ehow.com/how_6696450_make-bed-runner.html |
Thanks.

If memory serves me right it was Kayewood who "started" the rage about the little strip quilt that was placed at the bottom of the bed covers. If you have a favourite block just make enough to cover the space you want it....and go for it.

Would a bed runner pattern work??
|
Am I the only one who pictured a little mitten to go over my toe? I do think those runners are pretty though.

I was thinking of a lap type quilt with a pocket for the footies on the back of it.
Sort of a qwillow type thing. I think one could take a table runner pattern and just make it longer. |
Good idea. There are some beautiful table runner patterns that would be great!

I think these are also called bed runners. I found several -- including this free one:

I recently purchased the book, Bed Runners: Using Precut Fabrics, published by House of White Birches. It has ten different patterns, using jelly rolls, layer cakes, fat quarters, etc, and they are beautiful. I don't remember where I bought it...somewhere online. It may be of interest to you!

Make sure you post a pic when you decide and make it - we LOVE pics! |
LOL! A little mitten over the toe. I'm still chuckling
|
When I first saw them online, I thought they were made for one's beloved pet sleeping at the foot of the bed. What was I thinking???
|
I,too pictured little mittens for toes and thought why not just wear socks. She means a bed runner.

try bedrunners ???????
|
There is a book and it is all bed runners... I do not have it right here but there are a lot of patterns out there but why not do your own thing?
|
I have quilted 1 bed runner, but for myself, I use a crib size quilt folded down the middle. I like making smaller quilts to try out a new pattern and they work just fine. They also work good over the back of the sofa if your sweetie tends to sit on it while less then spottless.
