Does anyone have pictures and ideas using toile fabrics? Thanks!

I would consider using toile to make a quilt in a block pattern with one large square. I'd fussy cut the toile so that a scene (or part of a scene) is centered on the largest square and then surround it with coordinating fabrics. Toile is just so expensive that I rarely purchase it except for special projects.

I love using toiles. I don't fussy cut it, though, it seems to do well when used in large enough squares to show a "story" though. Here is a toile I used in a block, behind the deer.

I will try to find some more pictures to share.

Here's a picture of one I've done. It's just a top here, not quilted yet.

The BQ block quilt that someone posted a couple of days ago has big blocks and is very striking. Don't remember who but I'm sure someone can help.

Beautiful quilt! I love toile fabrics too, and perhaps should think about using this in my next project.

I love toile fabrics. I used toile for the backing on a scrappy postage stamp basket quilt. It was beautiful and just made the quilt.

Also any blocks for "not wanting to cut your fabric" for showing off the fabric would be nice too. And then maybe use for borders too? There are a couple of books out for quilts to show off fabrics. don't know the names of them thought.

Oh, in fact it is the one on my avatar. the toile was blue and I put a blue binding on. It is lovely!

Both of your quilts with the toile are beautiful. I love it, too. I'm also looking for some to make aprons.

do a search for toile quilts and click images. you should come up with lots.

Ooooh! Aprons would be fun with toile! I haven't thought of that! Any pictures or suggestions?

I did make it of my own design. I just could not resist the toile, and wanted to do something that would have some bigger pieces in it. I am glad you like it. I do! I hope to get it quilted after the holidays.
