I feel you are over-thinking this. :) It really is okay; I promise people will be seeing the overall look of your quilt, not individual stitches of the piecing. (And if a quilt police shows up, remind them you have no prior 'history' and can walk away from them this time :p)
Try a gray thread, as DakotaMaid suggested, if you want to, but I've been quilting for over 30 years and have used an ecru thread for about 80% of all my piecing for all that time. I also use a looser stitch length that you have here. Jan in VA |
Ditto on trying different color thread. But.....oftentimes I have patchwork that looks like this and it's all fine/not noticeble in the end. We're just so close to it while we're sewing that almost everything glares at us! And great job on your block.

Your block is beautiful, if I could get my points that nice I wouldn't care if ever stitch showed

Don't know the size of the needle you're using, but if it's a 12 or 14 try using a 10 or 11. The larger needle makes a bigger hole and sometimes lets the thread show through when you press your seams.

A question for you. Do you set the seam before opening it up to press? I have found that this really makes a difference. Also, are you pressing it or ironing it back & forth? I never iron mine. I just press it with one swipe & then up & down motion. I never move it back & forth on the seam as this will cause the seam to separate just a hair. Although, after your quilt is finished & you wash it, all should fall back into place.
