Someone posted about not liking modern fabrics as they are too busy. This is a fabric and a pattern from an Australian based designer I was thinking about making for a 5 year old, although, at my current rate of quitling she may be 6 when she gets it!

Cute quilt

I think she will love it! It's perfect for a little girl. Not too busy at all. Know what you mean about going slow. If I don't finish my DGS's cub scout quilt soon, the kid will be a boy scout!:-)

I think it would be perfect for a 5 (or 6) yr old, and something that she will still enjoy into her teens.

I love it!

The fabric *is* busy, but I think the white breaks it up nicely! :D

I like it. Kids love busy prints, lots to look at, something new each time.

Don't let someone else's taste in fabric keep you from using fabrics you like. If we all thought alike.....well, you know how that would go. I see lots of quilts and fabrics on here I like, as did the quilter. Then there are lots that I don't like at all but the quilter obviously does. This is what gives us the multitude of choices we have today. I love the fabrics and quilt you're considering making. But even if I didn't like them, that shouldn't matter at all to you. You go for it!

I'm not even a big fan of heart patterns usually and I love that quilt. I think it would be perfect for your daughter :-)
