I am a new quilter, and was feeling badly because some of my corners did not line up. My darling daughter in law told me that her "quilts are not perfect either, but the love that goes into making them - IS" My son is responsible for the statement...

i like to make my mistakes a game most of my crafty stuff is made for my non crafty friends so they wouldnt know a mistake if it hit them in the face lol so i tell them sometimes that it is there so they have to look for it but like someone else said i dont have to put one there they usually happen by themselves i too am WAY to critical of myself my kids and my husband keep telling me i should sell my stuff and i would like to set up with etsy or one of those but not sure what would sell well

Oh, I heard that differently: If you can't see it while galloping by on a horse, then it doesn't count.

I did that for an sick friend to give him something to do to pass the time. I gave him a list of all the things that were in the fabrics plus I told him there were at least two pieces of fabric wrong side out. He managed to find everything on the list except those two wrong side out pieces.

Yes, I do that too, and so far haven't gone back to try them. I usually copy any pattern I do and keep it in a binder in one of those plastic page protectors so that I can feel free to write all over the one I'm using. I do the same thing with recipes since I'm usually getting food all over them too.

My daughter-in-law (who is a peach) tells me the same thing. Problem is, if I'm not giving it to someone else, I'm usually making it because I like the pattern so much. I just want to keep it for myself and for posterity. LOL

I am teaching my DGD how to sew. She was sewing away and then just quit. I asked her why she quit and she told me that she can't sew "perfect" like I do. I immediately showed her all the mistakes in the quilts that I have made. I then introduced her to the seam ripper, told her that when sewing it is my best friend. She is back sewing happily even with mistakes.
