I'm mostly self taught, and I don't know any strategy for dealing with the hard lump I end up with in the center of my pinwheel blocks and some stars. Any suggestions from the experts out there? All suggestions appreciated!

I can't explain it well, but watch Eleanor Burns videos--she does it in such a way that you end up with your seam allowances making a mini-pinwheel in the center on the back of the block--reduces the bulge.

catrancher,

Here's a picture of how to make a pinwheel center flat. It actually makes a pinwheel on the back too. Go down to step 11.

I press the seams open instead of to the side when dealing with pooints, reduces bulk.
