I'm making a baby quilt using the chenille-ing technique. After matching all the flannels and cutting straight edges, I've got a square 35" on each side which I think is too small.
I'm trying to think of something to do on the edges that would make it bigger but the chenilling is stumping me. Any ideas?? |
Could you post pictures of the quilt? We are a visual bunch.

I guess I would try a border - maybe of the top fabric. I think the difference in texture could be pretty and add another element to the quilt. Good luck.

I cannot - my daughter is on a student exchange in Russia with my digital camera.
Here is the pattern of sewing (you sew 1/2 in apart and then cut between the sewing lines to create the chenille) |
Granny,
I had thought of a border but the body is 4 layers of flannel (you cut the top three to get the chenille). How do I make the border match in thickness? Rody |
Use three or four layers for the border. You can sew more than one layer as if it were a single layer of fabric. Or you could put batting just in the border.

I think 35" will be very useful now and a great, portable lovey later.

make a rag quilt border or two using the same number of layers.

What about using Minky or another type of fleece for the borders? :D:D:D
