sigh, I wish I had that problem.. My problem is not being able to purchase any due to a host of medical/heart surgery bills we have. so, scraps, clothing cut up, ect is what I draw from..

You are so organized! I am jealous, jealous, jealous!

Oh yeah, this is me.

I like your attitude. May I quote you next time someone comments on my stash?

I do trade shows for a living and my quilting neighbor & best friend goes with me 6-8 times a year. Leave the husbands and ROAD TRIP!! We hit every quilt shop between home and the show. I thought we were weird because every night when we make it back to the hotel room, we each spread that day's buys out on our beds and feel and match and pass to one another, it's like a high! Now that I read this board, maybe we're more normal than I thought!!

Love the cartoon. I'll be very very old and then some-before I use some of my stash. But I figure don't have any other bad, bad habits so collecting stash is not so bad. A mgr. at a Wally told me this one time.

Gilla- I just did 4 different stack and whacks out of fabric that I asked myself, why in the world did I buy that? LOL But, I absolutely love them in the stack and whack.
When my husband gets home Monday, I'll take a picture of my "stash". |
I love this cartoon-I am a novice quilter, have always sewn, but retired recently-I always considered my fabric inventory an investment in my retirement!

Looking at some of your stacks, I have a long way to go. That's okay. I much rather let the LQS store them then I do. This way the money is in my pocket, not theirs. I often found that the pieces in my stash don't necessarily go with what I am working on, requiring more purchases. This week is the first time I used a fabric for a border from my stash. The rest sits there, collecting dust. I also find that some fabrics go out of style. This is not sour grapes. Some pieces I bought last year happily don't impress me any more as much, when comparing stuff that is now out.
