Took Stitches Out/Holes in Fabric
 

These are machine quilting stitches that did not turn out as I wanted. There are a lot of them and they are close together. I tried the fingernail trick, and it is not really working.

This is a small wall hanging and will not be washed. Is there another thing that I could try?

Mix a little white vinegar or just warm water and you can use a small brush. Spritz the area then lightly go over it with the brush. Do this on the wrong side. You can also use another piece of light cloth. I keep a makeup brush around for these situations. It's in my tool stash.

You can also try steaming it with your iron. Test on some scraps to make sure the steam won't make the colors run.

I've used scotch tape or the tape you prefer. Tape over the area and do the fingernail run across the tape. When the tape is pulled off it does close the holes a little more.

Spray with Mary Ann's Best Press, then press with an iron as usual. This works for me.

Ive run the point of a needle over the holes then pressed.

I usually have luck with just a spritz of water and rubbing with a scrubbie.

I usually just rub out the holes with a clean damp washcloth. It works easily, but if it's a batik with the holes, those take a bit more rubbing to get out.

You might try misting them. I do this on a quilt when I have to rip out the quilting stitches and move them to another area. The quilt will eventually get washed so I know the holes with shrink but if I'm doing someone else's quilt I'd rather they didn't know I had to move the pattern. This has worked great for me. I also mist when I need to shrink fullness out of an area while its on the frame.
