Here is my solution, go to garage/estate sales pick up a couple of "new to you" chairs and with the left over $$$ buy the new machine. Solves both problems of yours and you would be amazed what really nice stuff sells for very little at an estate sale.

I would get the quilting machine and slip covers! Not a hard choice for me!!! Of course, if I had a LAQ, I'd probably never go into my living room!

I would go for the quilting machine. I'm trying to convince my DH that we should get rid of the sofa in the great room and replace it with a long arm quilter. Nobody ever sits on the sofa. It is just taking up space! lol
