Towa Bobbin tension gauge adn top tension gauge?

Just saw information on the Towa Bobbin tension gauge and the top tension gauge for long arms. Has anyone used them and what do you think. They sound like something that would be useful - but then again lots of things sound useful but really don't make a difference.

I've often thought of buying one, because I always read favorable things from users, but never get around to buying it because I never have tension issues. Hope I didn't just jinx myself...

I use the bobbin gauge constantly, but found the top gauge to be a waste of time (for me). If you think you would like to have the top gauge, PM me and I'll sell it to you for half of what I paid. I've only used it a few times. I find that I just don't need it.

I use the Towa Bobbin tension gauge on every bobbin change. I always have. In fact, I bought it at my class on how to use my new Gammill. I was interested in the top gauge, but after watching the video, I'm not interested anymore. It requires installation and you have to find your perfect top tension than make note of the reading. I really don't have much of a problem with the top tension. I test it and make slight adjustments before each quilt. Hope this helps.

I have a Towa and use it all the time!

I test my tension by feel and visual test. I have a scrap set off to the side and check my tension with a sample run of swirls and such. I also found this video by Jamie Wallen very helpful.

I use mine every bobbin change. To me it is worth it to know I won't have to pick out any tension mistakes later. I have never used the top tension tho.

That is the best information I have seen on tension. He really has some good information. Thanks for the site.
