Toyota Mini 6004 sewing machine
I have been showing my little great niece how to make a small tote today. She had chosen the free pattern on a blog & it is just a flimsy, which she loves! However she was using my machine and the one they have is the Toyota Mini 6004. I have tried to search everything out on it, have cleaned it etc. and have a great stitch on it now, but the one big problem is that when you turn the dial to do a straight stitch the needle is over to the left position. It works there, but you need to mark your seam allowance and I really don't think it can be correct. It does a zig zag and buttonhole and blind hem just fine and the needle moves into those positions when the dial is turned. We have the manual. Does anyone know if it's possible that the needle on the straight stitching is supposed to be over to the left instead of in the middle? A service call is almost $100 so there's no way the machine is worth putting that kind of $$ into. (as far as I can tell) Thanks for any input. I did see a member had posted last year about having this machine & have sent her a PM but I'm hoping someone who is one here often will be able to post, thanks so much!
