I don't have a brother machine, mine is a Viking and you have to be sure to use the right format when you download the pattern. Are you sure you are down loading the one for your machine? The Viking has several different formats, but my machine will only accept VP3.

I have a Babylock sewing embroidery machine and I have to save my patterns in PES format. This information should be in your instruction book but I believe your format is PES also.

Also if the design is bigger than your machine can handle it wont read it. If your max is 4x4 it wont read a 5x7 design.

Does your machine have a port or do you have to do it by cards or computer. If you have to use cards you would need pe basic at minimum to transfer designs to a card. I haven't yet done it by computer yet so I am more familiar with the zip drive which is what I use

Is it ''connect to computer" only..doesn't use a thumb drive?? Then, when you connect the machine to the computer, does a little sewing machine icon show up in the bar across the bottom of your computer screen? You can drag the design to there or click on the design to hi-lite it (if your designs are on Documents page), then choose 'copy to' and a window box will appear for you to choose the drive you want to send to. The window should list the machine.

Doesn't your manual explain transferring your designs? Have you ck'd the Brother site for information? My instruction might not work for this machine, but gives you something to try :-}

Your machine only has a 4x4 embroidery field so make sure the designs you are trying to transfer will fit in the 4x4 hoop. Your machine should have come with a USB cable to hook your machine directly to your computer. When you have the machine hooked up to the computer the machine will show up as another drive. Most computers have two drives, usually a C and D drive. The embroidery machine might be an E, F, G., etc. Once you have your design selected on your computer save it to the "E" drive which is the embroidery machine. Make sure you save it in the PES format, your machine has to be turned on while you are sending the design to it. It should then be in your embroidery machine. Please read your manual for more instructions, or sign up for a class with your dealer. You will be very happy if you do and life with your embroidery machine will be so much easier. If you are not computer savy I'd suggest taking a basic computer class.

Ditto rjwilder's answer. Always go to your dealer FIRST. Often we just forget one 'tiny' step and then nothing works.
